Product Description
MK-WS2-HT is a black, semi-solid extreme-pressure grease for high-temperature service, formulated from a high-viscosity synthetic base oil, tungsten disulfide (WS2) particles and special additives. It is designed for bearing, high-load and impact-load lubrication where low friction, water resistance, mechanical stability and extreme-pressure performance matter. This page covers the 1 kg jar, sold as a single jar or a box of 6.

Key WS2 Grease Properties and Applications
Key Material Characteristics
- Extreme-pressure (EP) behaviour provided by tungsten disulfide (WS2) particles
- Low-friction performance – brochure-listed coefficient of friction of 0.015
- Strong resistance to water, rust and humid conditions
- Mechanically stable under high shear
- Abrasion resistant for high-load and shock-load lubrication
Common Application Areas
- Bearing lubrication
- High-load and impact-load service
- Extreme-pressure lubrication points
- High-temperature grease applications
- Wet, humid or rust-prone lubrication environments
Confirm suitability for the intended equipment and operating environment before use, and review the Product Brochure and SDS first – especially where grease equipment runs at high temperature, load or pressure.
Performance Reference Characteristics
| Brochure-stated temperature range | −20°C to 800°C (−4°F to 1,472°F) |
|---|---|
| WS2 load-bearing property | Approximately 300,000 psi |
| Flash point | 245°C (COC), per SDS |
| Corrosion test | No colour change on copper sheet at 100°C for 24 h |
These figures come from the MK-WS2-HT product brochure and SDS and represent reference data rather than guaranteed performance in any specific application. Base storage, handling and hazard precautions on the SDS, not on the brochure temperature range.
Safety, Handling and Storage
Store only in approved containers and keep them closed. Choose a cool, dry, well-ventilated storage area away from heat, sparks and flame – per the SDS, storage above 45°C (113°F) may cause thermal decomposition with release of sulfur-containing gases. Use high-pressure grease equipment, wear protective gloves and suitable eye/face protection, and prevent environmental release.
The MK-WS2-HT SDS uses the signal word “Danger” and classifies the product for skin irritation, serious eye damage and long-term aquatic hazard. DOT/TDG, IMDG and ICAO/IATA list it as not regulated for transport. Follow the SDS before handling or use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes MK-WS2-HT an extreme-pressure grease?
The grease combines a high-viscosity synthetic base oil with tungsten disulfide (WS2) particles and special additives; the WS2 particles give it its extreme-pressure character.
What NLGI grades are listed for MK-WS2-HT?
NLGI classes #0, #1 and #2 are listed in the product brochure.
What temperature and dropping-point values are listed?
A temperature range of −20°C to 800°C (−4°F to 1,472°F) and a dropping point above 320°C are stated in the brochure. The SDS separately notes possible thermal decomposition above 45°C (113°F) in storage, so use the SDS – not the brochure performance range – for storage guidance.
What applications is MK-WS2-HT intended for?
Bearing, high-load, impact-load, extreme-pressure and high-temperature lubrication, particularly where resistance to water, rust and humidity is needed.
How should MK-WS2-HT be stored and handled?
Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources. Wear protective gloves and eye/face protection, avoid environmental release, and follow the SDS for full handling precautions.
