Product Description
MK-WS2-HT is a black, semi-solid high-temperature extreme-pressure lubricating grease made from a high-viscosity synthetic base oil, tungsten disulfide (WS2) particles and special additives. It is intended for bearing, high-load and impact-load lubrication where low friction, water resistance, mechanical stability and extreme-pressure performance are required. This page covers the 14 oz / 400 g cartridge, available as a single cartridge or a box of 10.

Key WS2 Grease Properties and Applications
Key Material Characteristics
- Extreme-pressure (EP) performance from tungsten disulfide (WS2) particles
- Very low friction, with a coefficient of friction of 0.015 per the brochure
- High resistance to water, rust and humid conditions
- Mechanical stability under high shear
- Abrasion resistance for high-load and shock-load lubrication
Common Application Areas
- Bearing grease applications
- High-load and impact-load lubrication
- Extreme-pressure lubrication points
- High-temperature grease applications
- Lubrication in wet, humid or rust-prone environments
Confirm final fitness for use in the intended equipment and operating environment, and review the Product Brochure and SDS before use – particularly for grease equipment operating at high temperatures, loads or pressures.
Performance Reference Characteristics
| Brochure-stated temperature range | −20°C to 800°C (−4°F to 1,472°F) |
|---|---|
| WS2 load-bearing property | Approximately 300,000 psi |
| Flash point | 245°C (COC), per SDS |
| Corrosion test | No colour change on copper sheet at 100°C for 24 h |
These values come from the MK-WS2-HT Product Brochure and SDS and are reference data, not a guarantee of performance in every application. For storage, handling and hazard precautions, follow the SDS rather than the brochure performance range.
Safety, Handling and Storage
Store only in approved containers and keep the container closed. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, sparks and flame – the SDS notes that storage above 45°C (113°F) may cause thermal decomposition and release of sulfur-containing gases. Use high-pressure grease equipment, wear protective gloves and suitable eye/face protection, and avoid environmental release.
The MK-WS2-HT SDS carries the signal word “Danger” and classifies the product for skin irritation, serious eye damage and long-term aquatic hazard. DOT/TDG, IMDG and ICAO/IATA transport status is listed as not regulated. Review the SDS before handling or use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes MK-WS2-HT an extreme-pressure grease?
It is formulated from a high-viscosity synthetic base oil, tungsten disulfide (WS2) particles and special additives; the WS2 particles are responsible for its extreme-pressure properties.
What NLGI grades are listed for MK-WS2-HT?
The product brochure lists NLGI classes #0, #1 and #2.
What temperature and dropping-point values are listed?
The brochure states a temperature range of −20°C to 800°C (−4°F to 1,472°F) and a dropping point above 320°C. The SDS gives separate storage precautions, including possible thermal decomposition above 45°C (113°F), so the brochure performance range should not be used as storage guidance.
What applications is MK-WS2-HT intended for?
Bearing grease, high-load, impact-load, extreme-pressure and high-temperature lubrication, with additional emphasis on resistance to water, rust and humid environments.
How should MK-WS2-HT be stored and handled?
Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources. Wear protective gloves and eye/face protection, avoid environmental release, and follow the SDS for full handling precautions.
